Vancouver, B.C. and Lima, July 5, 2007. Panoro Minerals Ltd. (The Company) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Fred A.C. Tejada, P.Geo. as Vice President Exploration of the Company, effective July 4, 2007.
Fred Tejada is a Professional Geologist and resident of British Columbia with 28 years of experience. He has been working as a geological consultant in Vancouver since July 2004. From 1996 to 2003 Fred Tejada was Country Manager for Phelps Dodge Exploration in the Philippines with management responsibility for all corporate and technical affairs, including the exploration strategy and the development and operation of a portfolio of exploration projects. From 1990 to 1995 Fred was Assistant Group Manager for Benguet Corporation and Exploration Head for Philex Mining Corporation from 1985 to 1990.
During his career Fred developed a special expertise in the exploration, definition, development and production geology of porphyry copper (gold) deposits. His experience also includes epithermal gold (exploration and production) and volcanogenic massive sulphide deposits. His work included leading involvements in world class porphyry copper - gold deposits such as King King, the Dizon mine, Santo Tomas II and the expansion, estimation and auditing of mineable reserves at significant producers like the Antamok Gold Mine and the Hijo Gold Mine and Vein-4 deposit. His work also included manual optimization of open pits designs.
Fred Tejada holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Adamson University in Manila (1979), he is a Registered Professional Geoscientist with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia, a Member of the Society of Economic Geologists (SEG), the Geological Association of Canada(GAC) and the Canadian Institute of Mining Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM). Fred Tejada has, among others also taken professional development courses in Mineral Project Reporting under NI 43-101, Mining and First Nations in Canada and the New Management Development Program at the Mt. Eliza Business School in Melbourne, Australia.
